Happy Christmas!
As the final days of 2020 approach, I wanted to reflect on the changes a single year can bring. And, it has to be said, what a single year 2020 has been. We are all grappling with what this Christmas will actually bring… How will we see our family and friends? Will businesses that depend …
Pre-Frankfurt jitters…
October and Frankfurt goes hand in hand. Whilst the publishing world pretends to moan about having to travel to the fair, and how it nearly always rains, and it’s definitely nowhere near as good as Bologna, it is still exciting to think about walking the halls, seeing the many amazing books coming to market, and …
Starting a business – the things I have learned so far…
One of the joys of running your own business is that you are in complete control. However one of the challenges of running your own business is also that you are in complete control…. In the past, if I had a question about a p&l, I asked the finance department. If I needed a paragraph …

ABOUT NOODLE FUEL
After working for other people for 25 years there comes a point when you need to take control of your own destiny. Noodle Fuel is the result of reaching that turning point and needing to create something for myself. I’ve always enjoyed the creative side of the publishing industry despite my own career moving in a more strategic and commercial direction and the time seemed right to explore that further.
That’s what gave me the idea for Noodle Fuel. A chance to showcase my understanding of how ideas transform from blue-sky thinking to a product on the shelf. I’ve worked with manufacturers in South-East Asia to source numerous different products from homewares to stationery to garden equipment. I love the whole process – from initial brief to selecting materials and negotiating on pricing to finally seeing the finished samples arriving in the office. I fully understand that an idea is only as good as your ability to bring it to reality.
Mark has experienced both working in a corporate environment in the video games industry for ten years and more recently tucked away in his garden office as a successful children’s author. With nearly 15 books in print in thirteen different languages and the HIVE series optioned for TV development, he really connects with our target audience. Mainly because he’s still mentally eleven years old, but don’t tell him I said that…
Noodle Fuel combines our strengths – Mark’s creativity and school-boy sense of humour overlaid on my practical ability to “make stuff happen” and an innate understanding of what will sell. Our aim is simple, to produce great content that everyone will want to buy!
We’re based in Oxfordshire and are very comfortable working remotely/digitally to support the creative industry in getting high-octane ideas delivered!
